Harold Cooper, Hillhouse indoor track & field: The sophomore won the 55 dash (6.55) and was a member of the second-place sprint medley relay team and third-place 4x200 relay team at the State Open.

Seth Karlins, Branford, football: Senior rushed for one touchdown, threw for another and intercepted a pass for a third touchdown for the Hornets in a 28-21 loss to Ledyard last Thursday.

Arkeel Newsome, Ansonia, football: Sophomore rushed for 293 yards and five touchdowns to help Ansonia beat Holy Cross 33-0 and capture the NVL championship last Thursday.

Matt Aspinwall, Foran, football: Senior rushed for 143 yards and a touchdown and threw for 206 yards and another TD for the Lions in a 47-41 double-overtime win over Guilford Thursday.

Brandon Basil, North Branford, football: Junior completed 20-of-35 passes for 333 yards and two touchdowns in a 19-16 win over Coginchaug.

Dillon McMahon, Derby, football: Junior caught seven passes for three touchdowns and a school-record 202 yards in a 54-27 win over Seymour. He also holds the Derby school record for receptions in a season (44) and receiving yards (812). McMahon also had two interceptions.

Mike Vessicchio , East Haven, football: Senior caught a 70-yard touchdown pass, threw for an 85-yard score, had an 80-yard punt return for a touchdown and had two interceptions in 34-25 win over Platt Tech.

Michael Andranovich, Foran, soccer: Senior goalkeeper helped the Lions to a 3-0 week by posting three shutouts versus Platt Tech, Law, and Hamden. He also had 20 saves versus Hamden.

Gary Ormond, Hamden, football: Junior had nine receptions for 220 yards and four touchdowns and added a 60-yard punt return for a touchdown in Hamden’s win over Branford.

Harold Cooper, Hillhouse, football: Sophomore finished with 322 rushing yards and four touchdowns and added a 59-yard TD reception to help Hillhouse beat Lyman Hall 46-7.

Djordje Pantelic, Platt Tech, soccer: Senior scored three goals and had two assists in a 6-0 win over Vinal Tech on Wednesday, netted three more with an assist in Thursday’s 4-0 win over Goodwin Tech and had both of Platt’s goals in a 2-2 tie with Prince Tech on Friday.
