In a 48-0 victory over Wolcott last week, Ansonia's Alex Thomas rushed for 257 yards, four touchdowns and totaled 24 points.

For his career, Thomas has rushed for 5,784 yards, which is still third best in state history.

Cheshire Academy holds function for Petit family

The Cheshire Academy football program will hold a tailgate buffet and BBQ on Saturday October 13 prior to the team's game with Williston Northampton, which begins at 2:30 p.m.

The Cheshire Academy Parents Association (CAPA) are raising money for a scholarship in the name of former Cheshire Academy school nurse, Jennifer Hawk-Petit. Jennifer and her daughters Hayley and Michaela's vibrant lives were suddenly ended on July 23.

CAPA will take a small donation at the food station, for an all you can eat buffet, BBQ and drink. It's suggested that you bring a folding chair as there's limited bleacher seating.
