Shelton to hold benefit for stricken coach
The Shelton High football team will hold a benefit for assistant coach Joe Casablanca, Jr., who's been battling a lengthy illness.
The event will be held on July 18 (this Sunday) from Noon to 6 p.m. at Stanziale's Restaurant (595 Main Street, STRATFORD).
Donations are $50 per person ($20 for children 12 and under). This includes a buffet, games, such as a moon bounce and face painting, and live entertainment.

In other Shelton news, senior Ryan DeAngelis, who was expected to be the Gaels' featured running back this season, could be lost for the year after suffering an alleged ACL tear, according to sources.
Shelton coach Jeff Roy has confirmed that DeAngelis suffered an ACL injury and will not play this season. DeAngelis recently had surgery.
