Bowman, Biestek videos up

On Wednesday, I did video interviews with Notre Dame-West Haven's Rob Bowman and Sheehan's Brett Biestek moments after they signed National Letters of Intent.

Due to technical difficulties (the video camera ran out of batteries), the Bowman interview was cut short. Bowman will play at New Hampshire. Biestek will play at Fordham.

Biestek headed to Fordham

Sheehan standout Brett Biestek signed a National Letter of Intent to attend Fordham.

Biestek, 6-foot-3, 225 pounds, went for an official visit two weeks ago. He picked the Rams over Ivy League school Brown. Biestek also considered Amherst, Cornell, Princeton and Lafayette.

Despite playing quarterback during his entire career with the Titans, Biestek will likely move to outside linebacker, or possibly tight end, in college.

"I just want to get out there (on the football field)," Biestek said. "Offense, defense, special teams. I will do whatever, really."

Biestek will likely major in business or economics.

"New York City is the perfect place," Biestek said. "It’s the biggest media market in the world. I also maybe wanted to get into sports management, be a general manager for one of the sports teams. You have all the sports franchises right there. It’s really the perfect location."

Look for a video clip of Biestek explaining the decision to attend Fordham on Thursday at http://www.nhregister.com/. There will also be video of Notre Dame-West Haven's Rob Bowman, who will attend the University of New Hampshire.

Diglio, Bowman sign

As expected, Notre Dame-West Haven lineman Rob Bowman signed a National Letter of Intent to play football at the University of New Hampshire. Bowman made his decision in August.

Bowman was a Register All-State and All-Area selection while leading the Green Knights to an 11-1 record, the Class L state title and the No. 1 ranking in the final Register Top 10 Poll.

Bowman joins the New Hampshire program that went 10-3 in 2009 and advanced to the quarterfinals of the FCS playoffs. It was the sixth straight time that New Hampshire qualified for the playoffs. The Wildcats have won 10 or more games four times since 2004.

Teammate Dom Diglio decided on Wednesday to sign with Southern Connecticut St. Diglio chose the Owls over the University of New Haven. Diglio was also a Register All-State and All-Area selection.

"SCSU was the right choice for me," Diglio said. "I grew close to the coaching staff during the recruiting process. It is close to home and a successful program."
