Deadline near for Floyd Little scholarship

Nov. 15 is the deadline for applications for the Floyd Little Scholarship, awarded annually by the New Haven Gridiron Club to a high school football player who shows determination, academic improvement, and strength of character.
The award of $1,000 is made in honor of Floyd Little, the former Hillhouse, Syracuse University and Denver Broncos running back, and 2010 Pro football Hall of Fame inductee.
The scholarship winner will be honored Dec. 9 at the Gridiron Club's annual awards night, which Little is expected to attend. Seniors at Southern Connecticut Conference schools in New Haven and adjoining towns are eligible and may obtain further information from their coaches.
