WEST HAVEN — In the locker room at halftime there weren’t any fiery speeches or extreme changes in strategy for Fairfield County despite trailing New Haven County by 10 points.

Instead, Fairfield County focused on playing disciplined and mistake-free football as the second half commenced.

With 23 unanswered points in the final two quarters, Fairfield County emerged with a 23-13 victory Saturday at the 16th Hall of Fame Classic before an announced crowd of 1,849 at Ken Strong Stadium.
