Senior fullback Brendan Maghini scored on a 1-yard touchdown run with 1 minute, 43 seconds left in the fourth quarter to lift the Hand football team to a 27-21 victory over Fairfield Prep at Alumni Field in Fairfield. It was the Tigers' first victory of the season.

Maghini also scored on a 12-yard run with 7:48 left in the final frame, and after the point after kick, the game was tied at 21.

Fairfield Prep (1-1) went up 21-14 on a 12-yard TD run by Peter Gruppo with 9:35 left.
