Father Bill Sangiovanni, President of Notre Dame was very
pleased with the committee’s selection knowing there were many excellent
candidates.
"Ted has been with the program for many years beginning with Coach
Bevino. Now as he enters his role as head coach, I am sure his commitment to
our student-athletes and his loyalty to Notre Dame will both be contributing
factors to his success.”
Chris Cipriano, Principal added, " Ted has been a constant in our football program for many
years, he knows it well, and I look forward to seeing him assume the role of
head coach. We certainly appreciate his loyalty to the program and support his
vision for growth of the football program and all of our
student-athletes."
AD Rob Bleggi stated, “Ted has played a big part as an
assistant football coach at Notre Dame for the last ten years. His knowledge
and understanding of the game of football is undeniable. I am very excited to
have Ted as our head coach as we move towards the future of our program.”
Coach Ted Boynton, “It will be a rebuilding process as we will go
back to basics. We will work on the fundamentals of the game every day. We will
reinforce the foundation which is in place, set short term goals and must learn
to win in practice on a daily basis. Practices will be organized, the staff
will be prepared and energized, and our student-athletes will work hard each
day. I will challenge my players, my staff and myself every day. I would like
to thank everyone involved in the hiring process as well as administration for
this great opportunity. I am very excited to continue coaching football as the
head coach here at Notre Dame. I love the students and the school and look
forward to coaching here for years to come.”
