Football season is right around the corner. Summer practice is underway now for every team in the state and scrimmages begin this weekend.

This means that opening day is quickly approaching. Once, again the Register will have a detailed preview section, which will include capsules of every team in the state, the Top 30 players to watch and the preseason poll. This year marks the 50th year that the Register will conduct a state media poll.

We had our cover shoot today, which features Berlin's Max DeLorenzo, Notre Dame-West Haven's Sean Goldrich, Xavier's Graham Stewart and St. Joseph's Tyler Matakevich.
