You were right about your predictions regarding Xavier over West Haven. But I gotta ask a question that is buring a hole in every Xavier fan's heart. Why has the New Haven Register overlooked and disregarded equitable reporting of Xavier games? Yesterday's game against West Haven received the smallest of stories in print. Seems like you dissed West Haven just to make a point againts Xavier. These boys work just as hard as any other team and deserve the respect you show to other teams. How about some fair, impartial and equitable reporting during the upcoming State Playoffs...might be a nice change.

We didn't mean any disrespect to Xavier. I was scheduled to cover the game Friday, before it was postponed. We had a reporter all set to cover it on Saturday, but it was postponed again. I covered Hyde-Cromwell on Sunday (1 p.m., West Haven-Xavier was 2 p.m.), and we had no one else (since it was a Sunday and the game was already postponed twice) to cover that game. Sometimes those scheduling conflicts happen.

We have covered Xavier this year, and I also did a story on them a few Tuesday's ago as part of my Weekly Tuesday Football notebook.
